IV FESTIVAL DE VIDEODANZA DE PALMA 2016 AT THE FUNDACIÓ PILAR I JOAN MIRÓ

Workshop: October 1st and 2nd from 11am to 14pm (75€, limited places)

Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró. Saridakis, 29
Artistic Director: Ágota Harmati

Workshop cost: 75 € / person – 6 hours
Contact: surmontenegro@gmail.com/ 663 580 872 Elsa

The fourth edition of the Festival de Videodanza de Palma will screen more than 20 international films within two days, as well as hold a theoretical and practical workshop for screen dance artists. As the films do not contain dialogue, all languages are welcome.

The festival is a free event which will explore the genre of “screen dance”, a hybrid between dance and film where choreography develops a relationship between the dancer and camera. Through the synthesis of dance and moving images, specific temporal and spatial structures are created. Due to the use of animation technology and electronic image processing, it is not only dancers who control the movement.

The programming includes a practical six-hour workshop that explores creative possibilities in the realization of artistic works in different genres, as dance and performance. The resources offered by technology, image and video, will be exploited for the creation of small and large format projects, individual or collective.

The Festival de Videodanza de Palma cooperates with the Screen Dance Festival in Sweden, where the videos will be screened in 2017.
